A Family-Owned Gun Shop Built From One Hunter’s Backroom Full of Shells
Four decades later, the family still runs the counter in Lomira, Wisconsin.
Midwestern Shooters Supply started with one hunter who got tired of driving out of town for shells, reloading components, and straight answers about guns. He opened a small counter in Lomira, Wisconsin, and stocked what he wanted to buy himself. That backroom operation is still a family-owned gun shop today, more than 40 years later, sitting at the same address on Church Street.
The advice hasn’t changed and neither has the address. Customers still drive in from Fond du Lac, West Bend, and around Dodge County for the same reason they always have: they want to buy from people who shoot what they sell.
Grandpa’s Trophy Wall
Every mount hanging above our counter came from an actual hunt, not a supplier catalog. These are animals the founder and the early crew put down themselves, and nobody’s ever cleared the wall to make room for something newer.

A new generation
The most recent milestone isn’t a new department. It’s a new generation taking over the counter.
Second Generation, Same Counter
The next owners grew up stocking these shelves.
The people running Midwestern Shooters Supply today grew up in this store, not in a boardroom. They’ve grown the inventory to cover the majors, Glock, Sig Sauer, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Savage, Browning, Federal, and Hornady among them, without turning the place into a big-box counter.
What they’ve refused to change is simpler: the same friendly, no-pressure atmosphere and the same policy of giving customers the advice that actually fits their situation, not whatever’s overstocked in the back room.
Straight Talk Over the Counter, No Upsell
Straight answers, fair prices, no attitude.
-
We don’t push what we don’t believe in. If a cheaper option does the job better for you, that’s what we’ll point you to.
-
We shoot and hunt with the same gear on the shelf. Staff test and use what they sell, so the advice comes from actual trigger time, not a spec sheet.
-
First-timer or competitive shooter, you get the same straight answer. Nobody gets talked down to at this counter, and nobody gets a sales pitch instead of information.
You’ll See Us at the Club, Too
Our staff shoot competitions and belong to local clubs.
Our staff aren’t just behind the counter on weekends. They shoot competitions and belong to shooting clubs around Dodge and Fond du Lac counties. That means the person helping you pick a load or zero a scope has likely used it in a match the week before, and it’s why regulars run into familiar faces at local matches as often as they do in the store.
